Kids Photoshoot: Milah - Round 3

Two years ago, was the first time I ever photographed Milah.

It was also the first time I was introduced to the Baby Shark phenomenon. I used to work with children as an ABA Therapist, back in the day. So back then, I was a lot more familiar with what cartoons, songs, and toys were popular in kid circles. In 2018, I was out of the loop for this one. However, after becoming aware of Baby Shark- I soon found out that it was everywhere.

The second Milah’s mom put on Baby Shark- Milah’s face glowed and she began showing me her moves. I quickly found out that Milah loves music and loves to dance.

Fast forward to 2020- Milah has traded in her Baby Shark tunes for Nirvana and Ram Jam’s Black Betty.

I cannot express how incredibly warm it feels to have photographed her dancing as a baby, to photographing her dancing as a toddler. Like I mentioned in Arsh & Sanjay’s Engagement post, it’s beautiful to be able to capture people as they grow and enter new chapters in their lives. For children, it’s beautiful to capture them physically growing and seeing how they express themselves differently- and in the same ways- as they get older.
